POLS 530 Research Methods I Select Term:
This course aims first to provide an introduction to the philosophy of social science and the logic of various empirical research methods used in political science such as case study, experimental, quasi-experimental research designs, historical, observational, survey based and statistical analyses. Second objective is to provide a basic exposure to statistics and data analysis covering topics like data description, probability, distribution theory, central limit theorem, sampling, hypothesis testing, ordinary least squares and multivariate regression methods.
